Special events in Kenya
Most people believe that the only way to see Africa is by vehicle. However, the only way to experience the nature of Kenya is by cycling. Biking is far from busy roads. You will experience different face of Africa-local villages and traditional tribesmen breathtaking scenery with wildlife grazing on the plain. This event is challenging that one should consider taking part in when in Kenya.
Quattro charge-March –October
This is an annual event where the big boys and girls come to participate in an obstacle challenge for 4x4 vehicles in some very ungodly terrain. The challenge is somewhat like Rhino charge without the distance and less rigorous and shorter obstacles. Many serious charge fanatics use this to gauge the performance of their vehicles before the Rhino Charge.
Kenya opens golf-April
The Kenya open golf challenge is an annual golf tournaments held in Kenya that makes up part of the PGA European challenge tour. About 150 participants used to complete at Muthaiga Golf Club, however in recent years, has been held in Karen Country Club-Nairobi
Sawa sawa festival-May
The annual sawa sawa festival is held at Sarakasi Dome in Ngara,(Nairobi) . This is three days festival that showcases various musicians both local & international.
Lewa marathon- june
The annual Lewa marathon is perfect for any runner in quest of adventure. It is also the only race of its kind that runs within a game reserve. The marathon is held across the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy next to Mt Kenya, true to its motto” Run Wild”. The animal are however kept a distance by a large team of armed ranger, a helicopter and two light aircraft About thousand runners from across the globe participate in the marathon.
Rhino Charge- June
Rhino charge has got to be one of the BEST IDEAS in history of fund raising. All you need is a car 6 crew member a map and large expanse of unspoilt Africa and let them loose. The event is limited to a maximum of 60 vehicles. The competing cars are given a simple map the night before the event onto which location of the guard post is plotted. After 10 hours of boulder-bashing, bush-pushing, lugga-lurching, swamp-sucking and cliff-hanging under a hot Africa sun. The results show that the teams have made it all the way around the course.
Safari seven Rugby-June
The safari sevens Rugby tournament is an iconi event held every year at Kenya Rugby Union Football Club (KRFU) in Nairobi. It is a major rugby competition, with the team around the world coming to compete in one of the most popular Rugby seven in the world.
International camel derby-August
The international camel derby is an annual event held in Northern Region of Kenya, which is sunny, dry and has a favorable climate for these wonderful creatures. It is also a spectacular festival packed with a variety of event that draw visitor from all over the world. There is also a chance to see displays of traditional local dancing. The camel race is recognized not only as a serious international sport but a great tourist attraction.
Wildebeest Migration- August
The wildebeest and plain game estimated to the number half a million animals, including Zebra, Topi, and Gazelle move en masse journey that takes three to four days from Kenya Masai Mara Game Reserve south-east into the Serengeti Plain of Tanzania nine month later they are all head north again.
Every year, hundreds of classic cars chug their way to Ngong Racecourse for this event. The highlights of the show are the pre-1940s vehicles. Entrants come from all over Kenya and sometimes beyond. Judges inspect the vehicle and no nook or cranny is left unexamined. Bumpers, belt and boots all undergo intense scrutiny before the winners are announced. At the end of the show, there is a procession of all the cars around the course.

The Nairobi International Trade Show is held at Jamhuri Park and showcase Kenya’s best in commerce and agriculture. Local and international exhibitors display and demonstrate their product and service.
International book fair-Sept
The international book fair is held at Sarit center in Nairobi. Offering Poetry, books discussion and readings, from a number of recently published books.

Safari Rally Nov-Dec
Kenya is home of the famous Safari Rally, commonly acknowledged as one of the toughest rallies in the world, and part of world rally championship for many years until its exclusion in 2002. Although, rumors has it that FIA has said that Kenya has a good chance of winning back its place in the world rally championship because it has more of the Africa scenario than the special stage rally concept.

It’s a brilliant place to buy your Christmas gift whilst you socialize with people, along the entertainment for the whole family. The product being sold at the Christmas fair are generally of a high quality and are often not found in Shops. The product include; quality crafts, clothing & shoes, furniture, cutlery and utensils, African textile, Christmas tree, cards, decorations, food, candles, cars, tools, wooden carvings, wine, sculptures, table decorations, jewellery, toys etc….
Whale Shark Diving-Feb
The whale shark is the world largest fish. It is highly migratory deep-sea fish that occasionally venture to the number of coastline around the world. Recently there has increase in whale shark population at Kenya coastline of Malidi, Diani and Watamu during February –March This incredible occasion is unique opportunity as you are usually guaranteed to get up close and personal with the amazing and gigantic, yet illusive fish.
Lamu Cultural Festival-November
Lamu Cultural festival in a celebration of the distinctive Swahili heritage of Lamu Archipelago, honoring both the past, the future and the values and customs that are essence of Lamu Community. The Mombasa carnival feature parades and floats from every conceivable cultural and religious group in Kenya. There are two main parades that converge onto Moi Avenue which feature incredible float, costumes and music.
